They offer hot tea instead of ice water, and the side dishes are tasty. I ordered the combination tofu stew, but next time I'll stick to just seafood. The beef was tough and the combination dish wasn't as good as the seafood alone.
This is a fantastic spot to grab a meal, whether it's raining or not! Everything was delicious and served hot. My go-to dishes are the kimchi beef tofu soup and the stir-fried noodles with octopus and veggies. I highly recommend trying these two dishes if you decide to dine here.
I must confess, I am a huge fan of soondubu jjigae, so when I found out there was a tofu house in the DMV area, I knew I had to go right away. While Lighthouse Tofu may not be as good as BCD Tofu House or a traditional Korean home-cooked tofu stew, it definitely comes close. The soondubu jjigae is incredibly tasty, comforting, and inviting. I have tried a few different variations and have not been disappointed.
The place is so small. The tables were so close to each other. We had Tofu soup, it was okay, but the soup bowl and soup container looked dirty to me. I had a combination of seafood. Tofu soup, which contains one shrimp, 2 thin slices of beef, and 5 clams and full of mashed Tofu and a bowl of rice. After I ate the soup, I had a stomach ache. Go figure!
I've been looking for authentic Korean tofu in the DC area and this is it! The soon and bulgogi were great and I will definitely be back. There is ample parking out front and in back and the staff were nice and attentive.
