This is the 2nd time my wife and attended the valentines special. We invited friends are were very excited to attend as the food was second to none and the service was great. All 4 of us had the 6 course as the 3 course may not have been “sufficient” and we wanted the extra time to enjoy the “experience”. The food and service did not disappoint. It was fantastic!! However, 14 Feb was a cold night. When we got to the door to the dinner, I said to my wife “I hope we are not on the bar side” due to the proximity of the door and cold air. Not only were we on the bar side, we were seated right at the door behind a plastic panel. The place was full so we decided not to ask to be moved. Mistake. It was freezing. My back was so cold I did not enjoy the evening. My friend commented his feet were like ice. The door opened and closed MANY times in the 3 plus hours we were seated. It was very disappointing to say the least. My wife and I love to go out however we very seldom treat ourselves to an experience like the Founders House (most due to the price point). We were excited to book this but I have to say I will not be booking any event at you establishment in the Winter months as it was not enjoyable. It is a shame because as I noted, the food was spectacular.
The Valentines menu did not disappoint! Every course was delicious, and other than a brief mix up with our neighbour’s courses(it was extremely busy! that was quickly detected and deftly resolved, our experience was pretty near perfect.
We went to both the New Year's Eve brunch and dinner at this restaurant. The food was amazing for both meals, prepared perfectly. The wine pairings during dinner were perfect. The staff at Whiskey Teller were attentive, knowledgeable, and polite, making the evening very enjoyable.
Excellent overall. New Year's Eve, so it was celebratory noise.
