It’s small with a little outdoor area an inside room that is slightly bigger. The room is wood lined. I can just imagine it would be very cozy in the winter/snow. The outside area fills up quickly. We arrived at 7.30pm on a Wednesday at the end of Aug without a booking. We managed to get a table inside, outside was already full. Service 2 guys run the place. Both were very friendly with good English Food Wine They offered a limited menu, small large slates of Fromage, charcuterie etc. Their monthly slate was not available, sad, as this would have been my first choice. Slates are served with great bread. We ordered the vegetarian slate which consisted of salad, hummus, 3 types of cheese, cucumber, carrots red pepper. We ordered a small slate at €9.50. It was more than enough for 2 of us was great value. The wine list was good, offering wines by the glass or bottle. Overall I loved this place will return when next in Annecy.
Very enjoyable, small wine bar located next to the ramp to the Annecy castle. The outdoor seating is great in the afternoon warm evenings as the sun does not shine in hence it's a perfect cooling down place after a warm day in town. Great selection of wine, even Grand Crus. You'll get definitively wine by glass, that you would not get easily elsewhere, worthwhile to explore and taste. The plates with regional local cold cuts, cheese and bread as a perfect asset to the wines and they can be big enough to serve also for dinner. Staff was very friendly and attentive (overruling older bad ratings comments here on TripAdvisor ... seems like things have well improved). Can recommend to get a place to sit, rest and enjoy a bit away from the tourist stream and providing a coziness to relax.
My wife and I called in here tonight and so glad we did fantastic bar by the Chateau great cheese and charcuterie sharer couple of bottles of really nice red wine really pleasent helpful staff good music recommended that you try if your in Annecy
Les Caves du Chateau is a funky wine bar situated on the ramp going up to the Chateau. We went there several nights during our stay in Annecy and loved it. It is small and cosy with seating inside and out. The young ladies who own the wine bar really know their wines they serve up a great variety of local wines and spirits and the platters are also delicious. There is great music playing and one night there was a guy playing the guitar. Enjoy.
Good service, very good cocktails and wonderful view
