Barclay Restaurant - Annino

We were aware that Barkley was not a completely vegan restaurant, but as a lover of high-end dining, I was excited to try it out. The cozy yet stylish interior provided excellent service. Upon mentioning our interest in vegan options, the owner promptly showed us the vegan choices on the menu. True to European dining traditions, the menu focused on local and seasonal ingredients, with one third dedicated to vegan options. It was understandable that non-vegan dishes were also offered, considering the unique niche Barkley occupies in the Russian dining scene. The food we ordered was outstanding, particularly the heavenly potato starter. Contrary to common misconceptions about vegan food being simple or Asian-inspired, Barkley's offerings provided a different perspective. Like many reputable European restaurants, Barkley prioritizes quality over quantity, emphasizing the enjoyment of each ingredient and the dining experience as a whole. While more expensive than a typical vegan burger joint, Barkley's elevated cuisine is well worth the cost for those seeking a refined dining experience.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! The staff was excellent and the menu, though small, had great options for vegans. I started with potatoes and baked garlic ice cream, followed by courgette with tomatoes and paprika, both of which were delicious. The raspberry and beetroot dessert was also fantastic. The wine selection included Russian wines, and I enjoyed two glasses of Russian sauvignon blanc. The service was friendly and English was spoken fluently. The location is convenient, right in the city center. I highly recommend this restaurant for a perfect dinner experience! 5 stars!

We had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. Every dish we ordered had a perfect balance of textures and flavors. The menu is small and changes with the seasons. The desserts were some of the best we've ever had, especially the delicious beetroot cake. The prices are very fair. We highly recommend this place. The chef is fantastic, and we even got to chat with him - he's a talented young guy!

I highly recommend a visit to Barclay restaurant. It's awesome! The vegan food is simply amazing, the prices are not bad at all. The Russian wines are great, who knew! The staff is very kind and attentive. Hands down the best experience in Saint Petersburg.
