There weren't many options on a Monday night in Ansiao but this was one of the best meals of a 10-day trip. We decided just to go for the set tourist menu for 13.50. Started with a wholesome bowl of fish soup. My wife had grilled carapau (horse mackerel) while I had ensopada de borrego (lamb stew), accompanied with fresh homemade chips and a bowl of greens. We probably had enough food for four but my lamb stew was so good I had to eat the lot. Superb sauce with lots of carrot and bits of chorico and red pepper. Dessert was chocolate mousse and pudim (creme caramel) both also very good. Drinks were half litre of very nice red wine and a bottle of water. Absolute bargain for quality.

Parei aqui brevemente para tomar um café expresso no meu Caminho porque vi uma placa publicitária do lado de fora da cervejaria “Schmucker Bier” de Odenwald, que eu não conhecia.
Bin auf meinem Caminho hier kurz auf einen Espresso eingekehrt, da ich draußen ein Reklameschild der mir nicht unbekannten Brauerei „Schmucker Bier“ aus dem Odenwald entdeckt habe.
