It is always a challenge to find the right beach when talking about having lunch.Food quality, price but also A la carte and menu choices are always challenging especially when you plan to have lunch along with a 19 month young baby.We walked from Juan down town and checked all beach until STAR plage.1) at first sight, their menu is a bit more expensive than others, however menu at the entrance mentioned working with fresh product only. And we really like this concept.2) we were welcomed by the manager I guess. Big smile, very friendly. We had an informal talk and we were not feeling harassed. Clearly it was possible for a us to have a look without having to lunch. 3) we decided to book a table and had the lunch. It has been a GREAT experience From A to ZThe biggest surprise came from the Seafood Wok and the scallop risotto.Nice portion and very complex flavors straight from Asia. It was simply delightful. We will come back for sure as soon as possible. At last but not least; a fantastic team!
We visited Star Plage twice during our recent holiday and had a great experience on both occasions. I found the service provided both when at our loungers and at the restaurant for lunch very good. It was as though nothing was too much effort for the staff and the waiter spent both days running around making sure that everyone was attended to. He was also very sweet to the children. The food was of a good quality and served quickly. My only criticism would be that it took a bit too long to place an order when in the restaurant but I think that was related to them being a bit understaffed.
I have eaten here about 5 times on various trips with friends but this was the first time I have been here in the height of summer. Because of the season I went the day before to book up front row sunbeds and a table for lunch. On our arrival I was told by the same bearded waiter I had booked with, that I hadn't actually booked front row sunbeds the day before as I didn't want them! - which was a little frustrating as I took the effort to book front row sunbeds, but we took the third row which apparently I had booked as I didn't want to ruin our last day on the beach. As our lunch booking approach we were told that we hadn't booked a table on the sand, that there were none left apart from tables inside. This was again quite annoying as on booking the previous day, I wasn't offered a table outside or specifically ask for one but there was a table for 6 empty that had been booked and reserved! Anyone that hadn't booked lunch could just take an outside table on a first come first served basis. Being one of two tables occupied inside again we tried not to let this ruin out last day - We felt that possibly because we were the only non French speaking people here it wouldn't matter. Luckily the waitress was very pleasant, smiley and helpful despite no English skills or me French, and she single handed managed to make the visit tolerable and pleasant.Overall, not sure we would go back as although the food was good, the waiter doesnt listen (probably too cool and busy to provide a good service) and clearly knew I wanted front row but dismissed me due to a lack of French. We felt that being fluent French gave you a priority for sunbeds and best tables which is extremely disappointing, as at no point did he say we couldn't have front row etc. Sorry if this sounds too personal as a review, but there was 1 waiter and 1 waitress to deal with all service and therefore 50% of the team lets things down for what is a very ncie beach area
Small, welcoming, very friendly staff, nothing too much of a problem,Cuisine excellent in every detail. Very pleasant experience. In my opinion much better than the larger beaches with 100 beds or so.
