The place, is a dream, is within the Santo Domingo hotel, an extraordinarily recovered convent, the very rich food and the proper temperature, and the very friendly and efficient service.

Excellent place to spend it nice ideal to disconnect from everything

While the grounds and the restaurant are beautiful, our dining experience was a bit of a let down. To begin with, when we were seated, we were asked what country were we from. Immediately, an American flag was placed on our table. It not only felt corny and unclassy for a nice restaurant but also a bit uncomfortable. The food was good but nothing memorable. The service was pleasant but considering this is in a 5 star hotel, our server was not very attentive. While we always try our best to communicate in Spanish, clearly those whose first language was Spanish received much better service. Perhaps the brunch is better but there are better places to dine for dinner in Antigua.

Excellent attentive service provided by the entire staff. The traditional Guatemalan buffet was delicious and nicely served. The place is so beautiful! Hats off to everyone at Refectorio for a job well done.
