It costs $15 to use their boat to even get to the island, and then it's very much just your basic bar once you get there. There's usually live music, which is good because there's not much else to do there. Drinks are pricey and the food options are pretty limited, too. The best part is that you're on an island, but it doesn't really feel like it since there isn't any sand or trees.
The general Manager Brian is the absolute worst kind of human on earth. After we asked permission for 3 kids under 10 to fish off the pier, he called the police after verbally and vulgarity screamed at us. Terrified our children and then made a huge scene. Then after the police arrived and reprimanded him for his attitude and verbiage towards children he apologized. You're a horrible person Brian Breeme or however your name is spelled. Worst manager in the history of managers. Who calls cops on 3 kids under 10 for fishing after they had permission from the restaurant manager. This low class guy.
The experience and band were really good. The food, not so much. I will definitely go again, just eat first.
Always a great time at Blarney Island. Plenty of space inside and out. Only issue at times is finding a place to dock your boat. Thursday nights are busy for the boat races there and you pay to dock on Thursdays when they have the boat races. When we went on a Friday afternoon, we did not have to pay to dock. Good times ahead! Enjoy!
We typically go on Thursday nights for the boat races but anchor down in front of the island. Last weekend we tried to dock our boat so we could enjoy island time for a while but it was impossible. They have to dredge where the docs there. If you don't have a pontoon and you have a larger boat as we do (27 ft. Sea Ray sundancer) Don't even think about trying. We sucked in so much mud and it took us forever to spit it all out. Our depth finder indicated that there were some places less than a foot deep! Luckily we left when we did so we didn't damage our boat. This review has nothing to do with the island itself, service and or entertainment. We've been there a couple of times on other people's boats and we always enjoyed it there. This just has to do with the docks, please clean it out and dredge it! ?
