The pizza is okay, the ingredients are def fresh but it can definitely use a little more tomato sauce (un po' di più di passata di pomodoro). The dough reminds me more of a NY style crust rather than an Italian one. My favorite part is that they sell some of their items to the public. The strawberry tiramisu is delicious as well as the lentils soup (minestra di lenticchie).
I’ve heard such good things about this place so I figured I would give them a try. Really wish I did not. I ordered a pizza, and some cheese sticks. The cheese sticks tasted like they were right out of the freezer. The pizza wow! I can honestly say it was probably one of the worst pizzas I have ever ate. It was soggy, and something was off with the taste. I don’t even think my trash can enjoyed it. Maybe they have other things that taste good, but I will never know, because I will never spend another dollar here…
This was my first time at Positano’s. I will definitely be back. We started with the mussels for an appetizer. The mussels were cooked perfectly with the right amount of garlic and seasoning in the sauce. I then ordered the chicken Gorgonzola and my with had the warm chicken salad. The Gorgonzola sauce was amazing and chicken was cooked just right. My wife’s warm salad was out of this world. I’m not a salad person but couldn’t stop eating her salad. LOL The service was spot on for a Saturday night. We also had a bottle of wine and would of had desert, but we’re too full from dinner. We could only eat about half of our meal. Have another awesome meal left for leftovers. What ever your doing Positano you are doing it right. I will be back and so will my wife.
First time here and the food was relatively good. We had their calzone stromboli. The waitress, Brandy, was sweet. She was very helpful and she corrected something that I called out to her very quickly. So, as I looked around the restaurant, I noticed every other table clear blue glasses. But, when Brandy bought our drinks- they were in some clear, older looking- stained glasses (see photos). I felt some type of way about it. A very small thing, I know. But, imagine how you'd feel if everyone has nice, newer glasses we were given these old stained glasses. I certainly don't want to make this about race, but it did cross my mind. Brandy did change out the glasses in which was appreciated. Small thing on the whole- food was good. I will say, however, my experience is probably a bit jaded by the glass thing.
I’m visiting in town for a few weeks from The Bronx NY. I stopped by here last week after reading some of the great reviews. From the moment I entered I knew this was a great spot. Since then I’ve been here 3 times in one week! The food is very authentic and definitely what I’m used to in the boros of NY. The double espresso macchiato is nearly identical to the one I get on Arthur Ave. Brianna, Maddy, Leilani and the owner/manager are all extremely friendly and welcoming. Keep up the great job guys and thanks for such a warm welcome.
