L'Assiette Gourmande - Apt

It's better than you would expect. We were driving around Luberon and got really hungry. It was a busy day so we stopped in Apt on our way without having the time for choosing the place where to have our lunch. So it was first spot that looked like there's food served. The first impression was should we stop here, but my son was really hungry and we decided to have a lunch here. And it was a big surprise. Despite the place doesn't look appealing from the street side, but it's nice inside and there's hidden terrace at the back which is cosy. The meals were good. Basic, but good. Not too much selection, but we satisfied our needs 100%. Despite all the small things that some could consider as drawbacks the staff is compensating it all. Absolutely friendly and helpful. Thanks you.

Had a quick dinner there after a long drive, the selection of dishes is fair, the food was average, the waiter was friendly.

I never learn this my self but Always it is the same result! Not happy. I waited for the meny and finally they brought me the big sign from outside and put in the chair in front of me. OK this I can live with. I ordered the most expensive meny and could chose from a lot of different dishes. As a starter I piched duck sallad. The sallad was big and everything well tasting. Smoked duck breast and cubes of confit de canard was perfect and also the different lettuce and endive sprinkeled with walnut oil. T-bone steak 450 g as main course was a disaster. The meet was perfectly grilled but I need to ask for a sharper knife. The Sharp knife and I struggeled with meet trying to cut it in pieces. Some times I was lycky but have to leave parts of it. When I asked if this was the normal quality the waitress said yes and all smiles where gone. As dessert I asked for something with chocolate but they only had a cake with chocolate sauce and I accepted. I do not know the name but it was very much like a gateau de fôret noir. The additional creme was the one you get in spray tins and the creme on top of the cake was very tough it was not the cake of the day. And as they were closed yesterday it was really not fresch. When ordering the meet I got the question what sauce I would like to have I chose the pepper sauce. As I allready paid additional to get the meet for main course I was surprised that they added even the sauce on the bill. This is a Place I will not go back to!!

After having had a good approach during my first visit I decided to go with family( 6 people.) unfortunately what had helped me get a positive note the first time, did not suffice for the second time. despite a limited number of people in the room, the service was a little long. the menu, didn't leave us a big choice. in some cases it may be a sign of quality and/or speed of service. So that wasn't the case. the simplistic dressage of our left plates appears just correct proportions. what we most disappointed was that there was no fish left, yet indicated on the map. So make sure you get some meat. Moreover, to our great regret, this was too cooked. I wouldn't linger on the dessert that was just immeatable. After a little insisting, the staff recognized his mistake and kindly replaced it. It can happen; but does it mean that the cook doesn't know what he's doing?! the positive points: the staff was kind, the interior room is large and the terrace side road hidden another quieter and more pleasant behind the establishment.

Perso j lovela terrace on the other side is super pleasant and quiet dishes are excellent copious service is quickon back !
