Sharptail Motor Inn - Arborg

Picture this: a group of 9, one nacho plate ordered and 3 large pizzas. We were given 4 plates, no cutlery or napkins. Asked for more plates, only 3 given. Hmmmmmmmmmm

This establishment is a combination hotel/bar/restaurant/VLT. The staff was very polite and personable and the price for a dbl room was only $88. The room was clean but not modern. Fridge, microwave and coffeemaker available in the room. Good enough for late night check in when traveling. I did not like having to wander through a bar to find the Office, nor the customers who walked over to the hotel room area to smoke and who were obviously intoxicated. Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors.

My husband travels to Ashern every year to hunt. This trip, the entire family got to visit and we had dinner where he eats each year for wing night. We had burgers, fries and cheese sticks. The meal was good, the service was excellent and we even played slots while waiting for our food!

What can I say? If you are hunting for a motel north of Winnipeg at 10pm, you will soon find out that your options are limited to either sleeping in your car, or paying WAY too much for a motel room. We elected to get a room.... Spider webs all over the curtain tops, as if the room hadn't been touched in weeks. Moldy shower head. Bathroom ceiling vent was an afterthought and had broken drywall surrounding it. Bathroom lighting was a mix of CFL and incandescent. Bare bulbs. This was a total dumpster of a room. There is no way the motel management didn't know how much their place sucked, and it was obvious they didn't care AT ALL about keeping rooms updated. $80 CAN $70 USD? I should have slept in my car. In all fairness, the beds were comfortable and there was a roof over us. The free breakfast was cooked to order, and was probably worth $10 person. My advice: Plan your trip so you aren't forced to stay in a motel like this. Every person that stays here reinforces bad cheap management.

Clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms . Tried a few restaurants in the town but had the best taste with excellent service at sharptail motor inn. Will surely visit again !
