Taking off a star as they couldn't tell me if there were peanuts in the food, due to my allergy. I hesitated with proceeding with my order, but decided to go for it as I was getting it to-go, and I'd be able to deal with my allergy if it had peanuts. Thankfully I was ok, but I still didn't like that they didn't know.I got the bun bun sampler and the bunny soup dumpling, as it sounded like that's what they were known for. When I went to pick it up, I noticed that they were part of a larger restaurant, which threw me off a bit. The food remained warm by the time I got home, so I didn't need to heat it up. I enjoyed the fried soup a lot. It was different from what I've had before. The bun bun sampler was a bit bready to me but the flavors were satisfying. I probably wouldn't go out of my way for them, but for that moment, it was a satisfying meal.
This is the take out version of Chang's garden. Wait was about 15 minutes despite being the only diners in the restaurant. The food was below average. The green onion pancake was just a greasy glob of unflavored, unsalted, dough with hardly any onions. The XLB was just ok, and certainly not worth $14.Had a hankering for pan fried sesame pork buns, and was told it would be 30 minutes.Service was friendly, but we will not be back.
I found this spot looking for somewhere to satisfy my craving for manapua. From the get go I will say, it sadly did not help as much. It however does have it's own charm that I did enjoy. The wait for the food was roughly 30 minutes (may be attributed to the establishment being packed) and what I got was not satisfying but good as it's own thing. The price is eh, savory buns were pretty good but finished fast, the custard bun had a chalky consistency I'm not used to. Overall, I'd still look for another place to get buns from if that's your goal.
Wow! Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, soft moist and subtly sweet. It’s like they gathered the outer edges from tiny fluffy clouds and stuffed sweet pork bits into their centers. The sauce is brown, not red like I’m used to but still very good. The pork chunks were very moist which I loved, with just enough fat for moisture and flavoring. The price is a bit up there, especially for a crowd. $15.00 for 6 Small Buns…but better quality when comparing to local Asian Market deli sections. 4-6 huge buns To-Go for $8.00 and you can feed an army or share 1 with a friend.Despite the price, I loved the product. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, Take the Steaming Square Paper off the Bottom before eating lol.The NAME Signage wasn’t over the door when I arrived so I parked in the giant lot to look at the map. I discovered that it was located on the yogurt shop side of the lot. 2nd shop on right from east entrance. It’s a strip mall off Duarte Baldwin, Bank of America ATM near sidewalk.
