We went there to celebrate my birthday last night. It was such a wonderful night. I was hoping to sit inside but only the patio was available. It was such a beautiful patio so happy we sat out there after all. The service was pretty great, and the food was outstanding. My mom and I had the bacon wrapped filets. My husband had the salmon. We all loved it! Thanks for making it a special celebration! We will be back!

As first time diners, we were pleasantly surprised with The Derby. Celebrating my dad 's birthday, we knew he would appreciate a steak meal in an 'old school ' setting. What we didn 't expect was the great, attentive service and the focus on preparing the food well. Our appetizers, steaks, sides, etc. were excellently prepared. The fried calamari was cooked to the perfect tenderness, and the green beans were the perfect crispness. It is refreshing to see their attentiveness to even the side dishes, which made me trust that the chefs were focused on cooking a good meal and not just completing an order. The baked alaska for dessert was a welcome treat. The Derby has etched itself as our new celebration restaurant, and we looked forward to returning.
