We ordered a lot of different things so I could try a variety and we ate tapas style.We sat at the sushi bar and had wonderful conversations with the sushi chef and other customers. It was a lot of fun. Now I know this place exists, I'll be going again before I leave the LA area.
It's unmarked from the outside, but the restaurant is very authentic. I tried the beef tongue, it's really good! It's a bit pricey for my usual spending, but the quality is good. I would highly recommend if price is not an issue for you.Food: 5/5
This is a very intimate Japanese restaurant with an extensive Sake menu. Reservations are needed. There are many small plates to order and choose from. Everything is made fresh.Highly recommend the grilled see bass. Honestly, everything was great.

This hole in the wall izakaya definitely lives up to the hype on yelp. We ordered the beef tongue, raw Hokkaido octopus, assorted sashimi, and kaarage. The beef tongue was the best beef tongue I have ever tasted, and I don't normally like beef tongue. It was beautifully charred on the outside and so juicy. The sashimi was really fresh and I could tell the quality the instant I tasted it. The octopus umami taste was delicious as well, but I prefer the suckers over the flesh due to the chewiness. The karaage was tasty, but I've had better. And my favorite of all time was definitely the pannacotta for dessert! The toasted green tea was a 5/5 for me; definitely get this if anything else!
