The food was uninspiring, poorly presented and over priced. The service was slow and surly and when I commented that we hadn't liked the andouillettes (I wasn't complaining, just explaining why none of us had eaten them) the answer was that I should have chosen something else (well yes, I realise that now...) the reason I'd chosen the dreaded stinky sausage was that the only other choices were ham and chips or turkey kebab (yawn). The starters were perfunctory. Melon and ham? A dozen chunks of melon with one slice of cured ham dumped on the top. The geziers salad was doused in so much balsamic vinegar it made me cough. The chips were, well, chips but the vegetables I chose to accompany my meal were soggy, overcooked and salty (and I actually wouldn't be surprised to hear they'd come out of a tin). When we first ordered our meal we were asked if we wanted to order desserts at the same time (which I've never been asked before) and the waitress explained that there were only nine of one particular dessert remaining. We sat down to eat at 12.30 - I don't think that could be attributed to a busier than expected sitting but it may have been an attempt to make sure we partook of the full three course option. I'm glad we didn't order them as we left and had ice cream and coffee elsewhere. Of all the meals we ate on holiday this year this was far and away the worst in terms of choice, quality and service. Their website makes it look so pretty and quaint but really you're just eating in a tent.oh, and the eels and frogs' legs? Well you can only have those if you order in advance (can't remember if it was 24 or 48 hours). I suppose I should be grateful.
