In my review of oban seafood bar i stated that the meal we had would be hard to beat, as the seafood was so fresh and well prepared and cooked, Well The seafood at The Glenforsa was impossible to beat, and really has spoiled us for the rest of our stay on Mull island. The mackerel was served FRESH and we were told was caught that afternoon by the owners. The sauces were perfect, our food was all served by a bubbly young lady with a smile and who kept our grandson entertained. We would like to say a big thanks to Clare (i hoipe weve spelt it correctly) who went to her own house and provided our grabndson with a coulouring in book and new pens (short attention span and was becoming fidgety and bored) we can not speak for the other reviews, but seemingly we can agree with all the other positive ones. we will definately be back before we leave Mull Island
We unfortunately had to catch a later ferry meaning that the local shop wasn't open and we were unable to buy the supplies we needed for our first night on Mull. A local person from the little village said that the bar at this spot may still be open, we called ahead and were adviused that although we would get there 15 minutes after last orders the chef and kitchen would make sure we were fed. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED. chicken burger was insanely big, the fresh fish (mackerel i think my wife had) and our friends curry were all served quickly and hit the spot. we had a cheese board to share fort ourt pudding and again, big portions pleased us all. weve booked for the restaurant this week coming. great hidden spot that should be spoken of more
Fantastic food and surely on their way to a star. Great atmosphere in the restaurant accompanied by great hospitality from the moment we arrived. Some of the best seafood in the country served in style.
After reading the negative reviews about this place we were hesitant to go but it had recently had a few good ones. We wish we had trusted our gut instinct and stayed away. A couple of locals we met in Tobermory said that they had trouble with the chef here this year and they were right. My wife ordered the Mull Skink which was watery and bland, a tiny miserable portion of dish water. I had 3 lango 's as they call them...they were ok but its hard to mess that up. For main my wife had pasta which was luke warm and tiny, I had a flat iron steak which was tough and again luke warm, presentation of both was poor. You will be charged £4.50 for a handful of soggy chips and £5.50 for a pint of tepid beer...An absolute rip off for miserable food. The chef was in and out of the kitchen running out to see planes arriving and taking photos. He should stay in the kitchen and practice a bit more.. This was not chef quality food by any means. We won 't be back
A beautiful Sunday roast lunch. Both my wife and I had roast duck which was absolutely amazing. The duck was superbly cooked with a beautiful sauce. The staff were friendly and attentive in an absolutely stunning surroundings. With planes coming and going outside the hotel something truly special
