Pricey. No extrAs but very good quality food served by friendly staff. Interesting mix of ingredients such as scallops and ruhbarb. Wine list good.
What a fab hotel. My friend and I had booked afternoon tea today. We were met at the door and we were escorted to the dining room. We chose to sit in the bay window providing lovely views over loch long. When the afternoon tea came there was enough to feed a family. The sandwiches had mixed fillings and were delicious. The scone was presented with clotted cream and home made jam , mouthwatering. And then the cakes, well what can i say , there was great variety and each one looked lovelier than the last. Needless to say we could not eat everything because there was so much. The manager gave us a wee tour of the public rooms which were beautiful . She was so friendly, as was the waitress. Who informed us that a whale had been spotted in the loch. At the end of our tea the items we could not eat were wrapped up for us to take home. The whole experience was excellent. I would encourage anyone to experience it for themselves. One word of advise , it's advisable to book at least 24 hrs in advance.
Food was fantastic. Wine selection was good and prices where agreeable for the quality of food and service.
We stayed as hotel guests and booked a table in the restaurant on our second night for the early evening menu which better suited our taste, plus we wanted a more relaxed meal dinner itself seems to be a more formal affair. Luckily we were able to reserve the table in the bay window making our evening all the more special as we watched the sun set behind the hills as we dined.Varied menu. Excellent value for money £20 for 3 courses). Service excellent. Food tasty. Starter portions bit on the small size. All delicious. Hubby very nearly ordered a second helping of sticky toffee pudding it was that good!!Extensive wine menu. Draft beer a reasonable £4.50 a pint. Drinks in front of the fire in the lounge after dinner is the perfect way to end a very pleasant evening.Hope to return in the near future.
