The Galley Of Lorne Inn - Argyll Bute

Dear Galley of Lorne Team, what happened to you? We were here last year and really excited. From the menu, from the service, from the food. Not to mention the great view and the really beautiful dining room. This year, of course, we had corresponding expectations and they were very disappointed. The specials on the board did not exist, the menu has the usual pub food. The young woman in the service was very friendly with a radiant smile but hopelessly overwhelmed. Sometimes a few young men were to be seen, but they were not really helpful. Towards later, a somewhat older man came to the service, but also he did not really improve something. The food was okay, but no pleasure. We were disappointed in the steak for GBP 28 in particular. We'll surely get back to a drink in the beautiful garden, but we won't eat here anymore.

We spent the night and had dinner at this restaurant. The bar area was lovely, and the dining room had stunning views. Although it was too cold to enjoy the outside area, it would provide the best views. The food was of good quality, and the breakfast the next morning was fantastic. The service and staff were friendly and professional. I would recommend this restaurant and would love to visit again if in the area.

Hugely overpriced which probably explains why it wasn’t busy,food was also poor,which is a shame as the location is stunning!

My husband and I visited this restaurant last weekend in October for drinks. The staff were friendly, but it was difficult to get a drink at times because the young girls seemed more focused on socializing with each other than working. As we left, we noticed that the entire smoking area in front of the restaurant reeked of weed. It's disappointing because this cozy restaurant has so much potential.

Excellent hotel, clean and comfortable. Staff excellent and couldn’t do enough for us. Food first class- try the cranachan!
