Parthenon - Arkasa

Typically Greek tavern in Arkasa, a small town on the hill. Rustic place the way I like it when I'm in Greece, unparalleled food, service, polite, generous, friendly. Unmissable is their slow-cooked suckling pig, excellent spit-roasted chicken, kontosouvli, lamb chops and anything else chosen from their menu. We returned the evening before leaving the island to taste their delicacies. Absolutely the best place on Karpathos run by 1 family. Its all home made, meat grilled to perfection, Mousaka so so tasty. One visit is never enough. And if you are lucky the owner might serenade you at the end of the night singing beautiful old karpathian songs whilst playing his Lyra. Making beautiful memories. Very cozy place. When we were there for the first time, there was a big table with locals playing guitar and singing. Totally relaxed atmosphere. The place is actually always quite full, so it is difficult for the staff to come behind. But it's taken care of. We've always been there with either a drink or a schnapps on the house, totally nice. The food is also very good there. No matter what we had there, it was very delicious.
