The Old Ship - Arklow

Went here for the 1st time even though we,re local. The service was great very friendly and efficient the place was packed which is always a good sign. The food was good but I was looking for a bit of a wow factor. It was good pub grub no complaints on that at all. Will we go back,yes, now we know that the old ship serves good pub food.

Myself and my work colleagues had our Christmas party in The Old Ship last night. When we arrived they had decorated the table with Christmas crackers. It was a lovely touch. The food was exceptional, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and the atmosphere was great. Starters ranged from the beef brisket croquettes to the Korean BBQ wings, mains were pan fried cod on a bed of chorizo, spicy baby potatoes vegetables to the traditional turkey and ham. Now for the dessert. The kinder cookie was outstanding not forgetting about the honeycomb ice cream drizzled with kinder sauce. Definitely worth a visit. Well done to all the staff.

Was here for a family dinner. There was a Thanksgiving menu along with normal menu. Food is of a very high quality and all the group cleared their plates. Definitely call in here if you’re in Arklow you will be well fed. Staff very attentive.

Lovely food, great service and very friendly staff. Really enjoyed our visit to this cosy spot. A nice gem in Arklow Town.
