The ribs, brisket, and huh are all amazing at this restaurant. I would give it 4 stars overall because the side dishes leave something to be desired. The deviled eggs are dried out and the potato salad and coleslaw are both very spicy. There seems to be a common theme of spiciness throughout the sides. However, the cold drinks and large portions of BBQ keep the rating at 4 stars. I would recommend sticking to the main dishes and avoiding the sides.
I went to the restaurant after a Ranger game and ordered the brisket. It was really delicious and I received a lean cut with less fat. I also tried the mac and cheese and the beef pudding, which were both really tasty.
The braut was the best I ever had. it was worth the ride.
Our prospective vendor took us to see the Rangers play the Kansas City Royals. We opted to have dinner at Lockhart Smokehouse at Texas Live! adjacent to the stadium.Like other places, they sell their meats by the pound (1/2lb, actually). We selected brisket, pork ribs and sausage plus the baked beans and mac-n-cheese as sides. The restaurant gave us a loaf of white bread … we consumed half of the loaf and left the remainder for other patrons. The brisket was juicy and tender but I ended up using the barbeque sauce on the table. The pork ribs were okay; a little dry for my liking, but tasty. The sausage was tender and subtly flavored; perhaps we should have selected the one with Jalapeno for more kick. The mac-n-cheese was great and the baked beans were satisfactory. What did we think? It was good (but not great) barbeque and the proximity to the stadium made it a “no brainer” for us. Recommended if you order wisely!
