The overall experience had its ups and downs.Order Details: Salmon Sushi $9) Pork Katsu Curry $19) Tempura Udon $18)Pros: Matustake Sushi is a good option for a fast meal before catching a flight. The service was quick, allowing me to enjoy my meal without feeling rushed. The food was served promptly, and I appreciated that aspect, especially when time is limited before a flight.Cons: One of the main drawbacks was the lack of privacy in the seating area. The restaurant felt cramped, and it was challenging to have a quiet meal due to the airport's bustling atmosphere. Additionally, I found the prices to be on the higher side for the quality and portion size.Overall Impression:Matustake Sushi provided a suitable option for a pre flight meal, considering its location within the airport. While the food was decent, the limited seating privacy and higher prices were notable downsides. I might consider returning for the convenience, but it's important to be aware of the potential trade offs.
Ate here a couple months ago but just found the receipt in my wallet and wanted to leave a review because I had a great experience here. I was feeling so sick from traveling to the airport on the bumpy MD and VA roads but my co-worker was hungry and so we stopped here to eat while waiting for our flight. I didn’t feel like eating but figured I should try since we had many hours until we’d be home. I got the tonkotsu ramen and about halfway through eating I realized I wasn’t feeling sick anymore. Felt like medicine but tasted delicious! I’ll definitely eat here again the next time I’m here!
This place airport location. shocked me ! Like I was thinking it would be good but it was amazing !! Had the seafood soup that was sooooo delicious the dynamite roll ..I am definitely going to try the location in VA! Make sure you try them
Like some of the other reviews said it wasn't bad for airport sushi. We had dinner there and there was a steady flow of people. We waited about 5 minutes for a table. We had the 12 piece sushi plate, miso soup, seaweed salad, fried beef dumplings and green tea. Food was descent and so was the service! Overall, no complaints.
Ok sushi bar in DCA airport. Nothing was particularly amazing, but it wasn't bad either. Nice atmosphere especially for airport. Servers and sushiyasan were nice. The tamago was not made there; looked and tasted store bought, but at least given a big piece. Nori was not crispy. Many types of fish were precut in bar cooler for easy assembly, which usually dries out the fish a bit. Nigiri salmon was pretty good and good size best thing we had. Rolls neatly cut. Nigiri orders are priced per piece, not two. Not Japanese operated. Clean and nice presentation.
