We were staying at the hotel next door and after having looked around the rest of Clearwater, we decided to eat here. Its a cosy little place and was nearly packed out with dinners when we were there in April. The waitress was really friendly and made some suggestions of good food to eat there. I can't really remember what I had but I'm sure it was a burger but I do remember the food being really tasty and we didn't have to wait too long for it to come along. With some drinks, food, tax and tip, our bill came to C$60 approx. If you're in Clearwater and looking for somewhere to eat, I highly recommend it.
Passed through Clearwater on our way to Edmonton, wasn't expecting much from the little town, Front desk (who ended up being our waitress) recommended we eat here and we were extremely happy we listened. My wife ordered the chicken with mushroom sauce on it and I had the 10oz steak. The portions were huge, we couldn't believe our eyes when the plates arrived, also by far the best meal we had on our week long trip. Service was quick and friendly, the front desk/waitress made us feel at ease and comfortable she was very enjoyable to talk to. We will definitely be back and will recommend this place to everyone.
We ate here for dinner last night following my usual extensive pre-holiday research on where to eat. When back in our room I re-checked recent reviews assuming something must have changed in the meantime but no, our experience was totally at odds with the reviews. Our order was taken quickly but we then waited half an hour for our appetisers to arrive. Not sure what took so long as the prawns tasted like they had been cooking for hours. The appetisers were advertised as 'for sharing' but we received no side plates. As the resteraunt boasts the lamb as a speciality my son & I ordered the days option of leg chops. We were not asked how we would like it cooked and so expected the medium rare recommended which was fine with us. A good vet could have brought mine back but my son's was nearer to medium so we swapped as he likes his meat rarer and wasn't put off by the lake of blood now on my plate. Despite the rareness of the meat however both chops were very chewy. Our jacket potatoes were undercooked and we all had a slice of cucumber topped with an blob of something unidentifiable on top. It looked as though it could be some kind of relish/sauce so I tasted it and it was garlic butter. I managed to clear the film of butter that now coated my teath with the salad ( which was delicious by the way) but what a bizarre thing to do. Who puts garlic butter on a slice of cucumber? It really wasn't worth paying an extra $2 per potato to add the feta as it was just a small portion of crumbled feta mixed with raw onion. Both my son and I wished we had ordered the garden salad with house dressing, it was delicious, as was the lemonade but we expected way more from the lamb dish costing $38 pp. I can only assume by the number of rave reviews this resteraunt gets that we were very unlucky.
The food here was very good. I had the lamb burger and it was amazing. My daughter had one of the beef burgers and really enjoyed it. I liked that you could get 2 sides (split your sides) and I had salad and fries, while my daughter went with one side, yam fries. Good food, large portions (I took half of mine with me) and good service. Much more than burgers on the menu.
