Al Pontile - Ascona

Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn 't even deserve this one star. From start to finish, zero star rating. Already when making the reservation on the phone, very unfriendly and brisk. But we still wanted to try. We made a reservation outside, but it started to rain so we had to sit inside. Because we made a special reservation, we were given a table in the farthest corner where it was so humid and warm, which also had lots of small dead fruit flies on it. We thought we would give it a try there too. For the starter we were given a lump of tartare, not nice to look at and tasteless. One main course came wrong at first, then only warmed up orecchiette with fresh truffle (nothing about it was fresh) and beef fillet cubes (very small, somewhat tough pieces of beef). The hidden pork fillet was neither hidden nor a real fillet (see picture). The only thing hidden was the meat in the fat. We barely touched the pork tenderloin because you really couldn 't eat it. When asked why we didn 't eat it, we said because it was hard to bite. There was no apology nor did they offer us a price. When paying, the only thing the waiter said was, sorry, it wasn 't like that today . Well, it 's a shame about that experience. Went to a restaurant nearby a few days later and it was wonderful!

Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the food on August 1st, 2022. When it came after 3 hours, it was cold. More food was forgotten and we left after 10:30 pm and were annoyed. Service staff was very helpful and totally overwhelmed (not enough staff)

Not enough for the money, rude staff. not recommendable

Wir haben in diesem Restaurant gegessen, da es zu unserem Hotel gehört hat. Man hat eine schöne Auswahl von verschiedenen Gerichten. Auch auf der Weinkarte findet man eine schöne Anzahl von verschiedenen guten Tropfen.Das Essen hat uns sehr geschmeckt, das Personal war schnell und freundlich. Ich kann nichts bemängeln.

Spitzenküche und Spitzenprodukte. Freundliches und zuvorkommender Personal. Super Ambiente. Als quasi Stammgast geniesse ich bei jeden Besuch das exzellente Essen, die tolle Ambiance und die Gastfreundlichkeit. Einfach super...Roberto C., Ascona
