Three ceiling fans operated at what was obviously the slowest speed and we were told that they had no ability to turn them “up”. The hostess seemed put out that we wanted another table other than a small side table we were originally offered. Apathy pervaded. The server was good but that did not make up for a miserable environment.
French onion soup and all you can eat mussels. Service was quick and polite.
Best French cuisine around. I always like to visit Bouchon when I’m in Asheville. Everything I’ve ever had is wonderful!
Overall the food here is great. Halibut special was incredible. Duck flavorful but one piece was not well seared. The broth for the mussels was flavorful but the mussels didn’t seem to take on any of the flavor unfortunately, and many were gritty. Atmosphere is always good. I subtract one star for the service because I felt that the server was slightly misleading. The server asked us if we wanted bread with the mussels (as if it were included). Yes, bread separately on the menu costs money but I felt in this case since the server specifically asked/ offered it, there should’ve been more transparency about the cost. The reservation also indicated it was our anniversary and there was no acknowledgement of that (even verbal).
Delightful and delicious! We came here back in March 2021 as part of our honeymoon, and returned today as part of a weekend getaway. Rich, flavorful, wonderful variety of food and drink choices.
