Wonderful authentic Caribbean food! The Saltfish Suzanne was delightful, and the dumplings I stole from my husband's plate were perfect, not light and puffy, not heavy and chewing, only that absolutely perfect give with every bite. I loved the Dasheen Chips/appetizer crispy and delicious. The waiting staff was friendly, and the owner Esther felt like an old friend from the beginning. If you like a little spice, ask for a house made pepper sauce. Do not let yourself be fooled by the mild creamy appearance that it throws some serious heat! Thanks Calypso, for a taste of home to the mountains of Western North Carolina!
This place is fantastic! Friendly service, great food, delicious cocktails, flawless toilets, cucumber/mint infused water, warm towels before meal and super fun music selection. We love the whole Snapper-- really fresh and super seasoned and prepared. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Asheville. And Esther is an absolute joy, always welcome to us.
The food was absolutely spectacular from preparation to presentation, was very satisfied. As unfamiliar with Caribbean cuisine, I was tired to stay. After we were greeted eagerly by a true St. Lucia local, we were presented with recommendations for drinks/dinners. Miranda gave us an extraordinary service all night and served every dish with the drink we prefer while in a contemporary way. If you would recommend this small hole in the wall restaurant, we will be back!
Had lunch here this week for the first time and it was absolutely fabulous. A party of flavors in my mouth! I had the curried shrimp rotis with St. Lucian macaroni pie and greens. All of it was to die for. Highly recommend to anyone reading this, and I'll be telling my friends all about it. Kudos!
