Well preserved and looked after, the Grove Arcade is a beautiful representation of a past era's vision for a consolidated shopping experience. Take some time to read up on the building's history before you visit, and you will better understand thewinding path it took to get to its current state. Many of the shops were a bit too high end for our wallets, but they did seemto fit right into the elegant style of the building. Overall a very neat piece of history to, at the very least, walk throughand admire.
This is a beautiful old building with individual shops for artisans. Unfortunately many were closed on Sunday and many storefronts are vacant. Those who were open had eclectic jewelry, pottery, original art, and my favorite, a handcrafted hatstore. It was so nice to stroll from shop to shop while being protected from the weather. It would be nice to see this locationcompletely filled.
