Heiwa Shokudo - Asheville

I have dined at this restaurant many times in the past, but I can no longer continue to do so. While the food can be quite good, the overall cleanliness of the establishment is severely lacking. I wish the owners would put more effort into cleaning up the place. I have always had concerns about the hygiene in the kitchen. Just yesterday, I witnessed the host and two waitresses inspecting a sake carafe and reacting with disgust, suggesting there may have been mold or other contaminants inside the vessel. I have experienced stomach aches after dining here multiple times, and despite wanting to believe it wasn't the food causing them due to its delicious taste, I can no longer ignore the issue. The lack of food safety practices at this restaurant is troubling.

I have been dining at Heiwa Shokudo for more than 15 years and continue to savor every meal. The lunch specials are fantastic, offering something for everyone. The sushi is delicious and their house-made ramen broth is a standout. The restaurant offers seating options both outside on the patio, inside in the main dining area, as well as a private room for groups. Street parking is available, and there is a paid parking lot conveniently located next to the building.
