Mountain Madre Mexican Kitchen Agave

Like most places in Asheville, help is needed and wanted, so this is a fabulous restaurant with delicious quality food and amazing margaritas!! The service just is slow. The bar ambience is so cute with high vaulted ceilings and on cooler evenings the patio and front deck area is fun to sit at while people watching along Walnut Street. Mountain Madre is a go to place for me when I entertain out of town guests or even when I’m craving their nachos and a marg! Parking: There is a pay to park lot directly across from the restaurant that we use! If you’re lucky you can grab a free spot along Lex or Broadway. Kid-friendliness: It is kid friendly in parts of the restaurant and they have a kids menu for your little ones to color while the adults enjoy their margaritas!

The guacamole had a metallic taste like it was old. The beef taco’s tasted like it was fried in burnt oil. The server forgot our side order completely. We will not be back.

The Street Tacos were good and accurately described. Both Tinga chicken and steak were very good. The Tinga chicken could have been more ... Tinga-y. The steak was from a decent cut; not like some places that give you bottom tier fatty or gristle-y cuts. However the flour taco shells both disintegrated upon first touch. The black beans and rice were really perfectly seasoned.

Great selection of great tasting, fresh food! And a huge selection of tequilas too! Fantastic service in a wonderful atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. We got a burrito bowl and street tacos and thoroughly enjoyed them. Plenty of other options to try so we'll be back.

I love the drinks here. Big fan of their additive free tequila selection. But the seething at the bar is so uncomfortable. Other than that. Great experience. Not a place you can sip all night at.
