Taqueria Munoz - Asheville

I watched the woman behind the counter prepare my tortillas, and I knew I was in for a treat. Any restaurant that serves tacos with beef tongue, cheek, and chicharrones is definitely authentic. With 75% of the customers being Mexican, it’s a clear indication of a great Mexican eatery. The meat was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. Plus, they have an excellent salsa bar. These are the best quality tacos in town, and they cost half the price of those trendy places.

This restaurant is truly a gem! If you're seeking creativity, this might not be the spot for you. However, if you're after delicious, authentic food, then this is definitely the place to be in Asheville. They serve the best Mexican cuisine!

I'm new to Mexican cuisine, but having lived in North Carolina for 15 years, I can confidently say this is the best and most authentic Mexican taqueria I've ever tried!

I ate here for the first time last Saturday and loved it so much I went back yesterday (Tuesday). I got 3 tacos and a sopes both times, and loved all, but the lengua (which was not bad, I'm just used to preparing it differently). The Cabeza is amazing, I had never tried, but in any case it will order regularly now what I have. The tacos are much bigger than I expected. I have tried the pastor, Asada, Carnitas, Lengua and Carnitas so far and look forward to Tp trying the Tamalees. I love the spice bar! Can't surpass this authentic Mexican food, it's my new favorite Mexican restaurant.

Quality food at a good price. I've tried a pork torta sandwich, chicken tamale, a steak taco so far at the Patton avenue location. All were great. I'll definitely be back in the future.
