Caffe Nero Ashford Mcarthurglen

I have always enjoyed Cafe Nero coffee, but this particular store let me down. I received a half-filled cup of regular coffee. I will not be returning to this location in the future.

Once again, we are faced with the mystery of the malfunctioning dishwasher at this restaurant. It seems to happen conveniently close to closing time for the staff. The excuses range from engineers not showing up, the kitchen being too hot, it being Friday, or any day ending in a "y." If they are unable to provide clean dishes, they should consider lowering their prices for customers who have to sit in a dirty environment.

The restaurant offers a great variety of drinks and cakes. We enjoy both hot and cold beverages during our visits.

I usually love Cafe Nero and it never usually fails to disappoint. This store, however, proved me wrong. The barista was extremely rude and unfriendly and gave off the impression that customers were a mere inconvenience to her day. I get that times are tough currently with staff shortages etc but there was simply no excuse for such a poor level of service. I observed the barista interact with a number of customers whilst waiting to order and was shocked by how unfriendly she and rude she was. For example, she’d start huffing and puffing, scowling, banging items and utensils around on the counter in a passive aggressive way. When it came to my turn to order, I asked if I could have my drink served in a china cup and opposed to a cardboard one as there were an abundance of clean china cups on the counter. Her response was ‘no!’. Not even an explanation as to why. I think the coffee chain really need to look into this, paying in excess of £3.90 for a drink in a cardboard cup is outrageous and drinking out of a cardboard takeaway cup takes away the cafe experience and not only that, creates unnecessary waste. I would have easily have spent around £14 on drinks for myself and family, but in the end I just left without getting the drinks as I wasn’t prepared to be treated like an inconvenience from someone working in the service industry and pay through the roof to drink from a takeaway cup when there were plenty available.

Went into the store on a Sunday morning and was accused by the manager of having a fake loyalty card! flaming cheek, she was so rude all she had to do was add two stamps. Great, news Caffe Nero, I won't be using your stores any more. Starbucks or Costa from now on.
