Water Street Cafè - Ashland

I've been a regular at this place for some time, and I really love the outdoor living room ambiance. The staff is fantastic, and the food is delicious, with plenty of vegetarian options. As a city girl and food lover, it can be challenging to find the perfect coffee spot, but Water Street has definitely created a welcoming and positive environment where I can relax and unwind. Thank you!

I pointed out that my wrap had no cheese, and she brought it back, claiming there was cheese after all, just a little bit. I continued eating, thinking it was fine, until the last few bites. That’s when I bit into some lettuce and was hit with a strong, rancid taste. It was shocking, because I had never experienced that before. I stopped eating at that point. Then I noticed the cook coming out and touching various surfaces with his bare hands, which made me uncomfortable due to the risk of cross-contamination. I decided to leave without expressing my concerns to the owner, as I sensed that any feedback would likely be met with defensiveness. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with an upset stomach since I got home. It’s disappointing, but please remind your cook to wash his hands.

The staff here is incredibly friendly! I had a lovely conversation with April about the beauty of Ashland and the birthing process. She was welcoming, helpful, and kind! I ordered the salmon burger with a side of chips and a delicious pico de gallo, paired with an iced chai. It was a fantastic combination, and my baby bump is very happy with this nutritious meal! They also offer a key for the restroom to customers, which is a nice touch. This charming open-air café has definitely made an impression on me—I will definitely be coming back regularly! My go to place for a quick meal or whatever. People are very friendly and I feel very comfortable chit-chatting with other costumers. A real Ashland treasure, and the food is really good as well!
