Mountain Social Lounge - ASPEN

Great mood, funny scene. our server was very nice, but seemed overwhelmed.

We had reservations here in the first night we arrived in the city, and there were some problems due to new coronavirus restrictions. the personal has a wonderful task to receive us and make sure we had a safe dinner. shout to dalisse to save the day! our server lawrence was also fantastic! the food was excellent - we went back a second time on our trip!

The Shadow Mountain Lounge sits inside the St. Regis hotel. Came here a couple of times and it was very good each time. Perfect for a quick bite in a relaxing yet trendy environment. Service was great each time. Food: tried the butternut squash soup very good, creamy and delicious. The truffle Parmesan fries are a must. Sometimes you can barely taste the truffle in truffle fries, but not with these. Perfect amount of truffle flavoring. Stuffed mac and cheese wow. This was so unbelievably good. Portion size was a little small, but that may also be because I didn't want to stop eating it. Grilled cheese very good. It comes with tomato soup and either a salad or fries. Pork belly sandwich very good, savory with lots of flavor. Cocktails tried the starry night and the spicy margarita. If you like jalapeño, you'll like that margarita. Strong jalapeño flavor to it. Food tips: truffle Parmesan fries, stuffed Mac and cheese.

Very disappointed. Given the reputation of the St. Regis, I expect a level of detail to their food that would match the reputation and price. As a guest on my first night, I stayed in to dine tonight in the lobby casual restaurant. I had a salad with salmon on top. The salmon was salted very heavily and the order took nearly an hour for the kitchen to prepare. The rest of this trip I will dine outside the hotel. See photo of my meal.

Absolutely gorgeous space on a level that even exceeds other Aspen high end venues like Little Nell and Hotel Jerome. The wine list is spectacular highlighted by one of my personal favorite bottles Vega-Sicilia Unico 2007 and top notch customer service
