The standout dish of our dinner was definitely the vegetable pot stickers, which we devoured as soon as they arrived. The selection of entrees was quite impressive as well. Although I found the prices a bit steep for the food, the overall experience was very enjoyable. I highly recommend checking this place out!
I received a lot of praise from my partner for discovering this place on Yelp; they even said, "I'll never choose a restaurant for us again!" I felt quite proud about that. We were drawn in by the variety of menu options, all of which were balanced and rich in nutrients. However, the real highlight was the ambiance as we entered. Picture this: walking into a bookstore with shelves stretching from floor to ceiling, climbing a beautiful stairway, and then stepping into a charming restaurant terrace surrounded by trees just outside. It was absolutely delightful!
Nestled on the upper level of a local bookstore, this restaurant welcomes you with charm and a warm atmosphere created by the staff. The service is outstanding, and the team is more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the menu. You'll find that the menu clearly indicates which options are vegan or gluten-free. The selection of vegan dishes is impressive, giving you plenty of choices instead of just one option! As for the food, it was fresh and delightful. I started with their bread service, enjoyed a refreshing gazpacho next, and finished off with a delicious farro risotto. I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu!
Pyramid is behind a book store in Aspen, so can be hard to find. In fact, we went in through the book store, but exited in the back as the book store closed before we finished our meal. It seemed to us that so many restaurants in Aspen seem to have focused on Asian food. Pyramid was along those lines. We began with the vegetarian pot stickers, which come recommended by many on Yelp. They were ok, but I would not order them on a return visit as they did not have much flavor, but no doubt were the healthiest pot stickers we have had. Our wine choices were the Malbec and the Chardonnay. Both were pretty good and reasonably priced. The chicken stir fry was kind of bland and the chicken was dry from overcooking. The duck was very good and recommended, although a bit tough. The best part of the evening was the dessert. A somehow reasonably healthy cobbler that maintained a great taste. Service was attentive and friendly. Our water was consistently refilled without requesting and the waiters worked very well together in coordinating taking care of us.
This little restaurant is tucked away above a bookstore. It's hard to find if you're not actually looking for it-but that's what makes this spot a hidden gem. I came here for an early dinner before heading further towards Carbondale. Like much of the rest of Aspen, the prices of everything are inflated, including food. I love that all the food here is super healthy though. I ordered the Lemongrass Tofu. Suffice to say, as healthy as the food is, the food is a bit bland. I think they can improve this dish significantly by marinating the tofu first, then perhaps air-frying the tofu to give it some more crisp/texture. The portion was quite fair, definitely enough for one person. Their redeeming factor was the kale pesto sauce that came with the complimentary bread! (Oh! They also have gluten free toast! I was very happy about this. The ambiance is certainly very quaint and sweet. It's nice and quiet-I think perfect for a date. I would likely return and perhaps try a different entrée next time.
