We got a gift card for Cornerstone, so we tried it for dinner tonight. It was a pleasant surprise. Although I am very focused on the Pittsburgh restaurant...
I had high hopes for this place after reading the online menu and the ambiance after I arrived. As it turns out, even though their menu says gluten free available on a good portion, it is anything but. There is hidden cross contamination all over theplace. You have to be specific when you ask. Gluten free is not always I lifestyle choice. You can make people REALLY sick foryour false advertising. If I could eat it, believe me I would. I ended up only being able to eat the salad I had ordered as aside for my meal. The server was nice enough to ask if I wanted a bigger salad but the kitchen just gave me more lettuce. Thewhole experience between myself and my friend (who had a 3 course meal) was maybe mediocre. We won’t be returning. Sad becausewe really wanted to like this restaurant.
Normally I love everything I eat here. Last night my husband and I shared the mussels and the arancini. The mussels, this visit, were not the best quality(which was disappointing because we love mussels) and the arancini was bland with a not great sauce. The cocktails were delicious, as always, and the evening was redeemed by the stunning and delicious desserts, apple breadpudding and chocolate ganache tart with pecan crust. Next time I'll stick to the dishes I know are always tasty like their lambburger, salmon, salads, crab cakes etc
