Contribuisci feedbackAstoria has several bagel spots, but Toast Roast was my go-to when I lived there. Their bagels are as good as any in the area, and although they're not larger than those from other places, there's still a great selection and they're always fresh. Toast Roast also serves better coffee than the other bagel shops in Astoria, and my kids adore their hot chocolate and apple cider (hot in winter, served cold in summer). The breakfast dishes—such as eggs, home fries, pancakes, bacon, and sausage—are exactly what you'd expect: not gourmet, but perfect for a casual meal. The sandwiches are also what you would anticipate. On a few occasions, I bought their pre-made salads later in the day, and I was never disappointed. Just like the bagels, they were tasty and a good size for the price. Lastly, the reason for my 5-star rating is the service. The staff is capable and friendly, providing everything you need when grabbing a bagel, sandwich, or salad.
Toast Roast Bagels and Coffee is fantastic! The friendly customer service pairs perfectly with their delicious bagels, spreads, and blueberry pancakes. Last Sunday, I placed an order for delivery to my door, opting for their simple eggs alongside the blueberry pancakes. I appreciated the call to confirm my order and to ask if I wanted butter and syrup—that extra touch made a difference! My Sunday breakfast arrived quickly and hot, perfectly packaged. I also visited Toast Roast in person for my church breakfast, and the service was just as stellar, with smiles from start to finish. I absolutely love this place and would give it a full 5 stars!
We live just around the corner and frequently order from Toast Roast. The quality here is the best among all the local spots, and everything we’ve tried has been excellent. Occasionally, when I request a flat bagel, they end up giving me a regular one instead. Since a flat bagel costs $1.20 more, it would be nice to receive a refund for the price difference. Fortunately, this mix-up only happens every dozen or so orders. That said, their breakfast burrito is absolutely amazing, especially with the incredible salsa that comes with it. The pancakes are also fantastic! Their lunch options are equally impressive. I highly recommend this place!
This is the best breakfast sandwich spot I found in Astoria. Let me tell you about two of their sandwiches: Lox Bagel Sandwich: They are generous with the ox and it is very good quality - not that muddy bland pink fabric that looks like fish Bologna. It is marbled and translucent: I think it could be cut by a real salmon fillet in the house. The bagels themselves are great, and the sandwich is assembled with care and remains together as you eat it. Get this with a roasted bagel and dill cream cheese and it stands up to Russ's daughter. Eggs and cheeses: They nail all the details. Eggs are perfectly boiled (placed image is from a 2-egg over medium sandwich), roll is roasted, sausage patty is the perfect size with good taste, only a splash of hot sauce, and the sandwich is assembled with care so that it stays together as you eat it. Love this place!
I ordered catering from TR and it was amazing! The presentation was perfect and everything tasted delicious. I received great feedback from everyone who attended our event.
