I was searching for a unique and different spot to grab lunch in Athens before heading out, and I definitely found it at O'Betty's. This quaint hot dog joint, located off Court Street and a bit hidden from view, was exactly what I was looking for. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff at the counter. Their menu features a fantastic selection of all-beef hot dogs with various toppings, ranging from classic condiments to their twist on the unconventional Chicago style hot dog. Each hot dog is named after burlesque pin-ups. The restaurant is divided into three rooms - the counter, a burlesque-themed space, and a vintage hot dog room - all with a cozy and cluttered atmosphere. The tables are small and the spaces are tight, but it adds to the charm of the place. I tried the Mata Hari dog with chili and cole slaw, and it was delicious. For my second dog, I went for a build-it-yourself with chili, diced onions, and mustard. Additionally, I ordered a large portion of Very Cheesy Fries, which were heavenly. The fries were freshly cut, crispy, and topped with a perfect blend of spicy cheese sauce and shredded cheese. The staff was attentive and friendly, bringing our order directly to our table. We will definitely be back for more!
