It's a cozy little location, with simple yet comfortable seating. The place wasn't dirty per say, though it could use a good scrubbing however. I was very surprised at the extremely premium prices the most I've ever paid for pho so I hoped for a memorable experience. The soup looked and smelled great, and I was surprised at both the quantity of meat and the meatballs, which were of a delicious variety very rarely served in Vietnamese restaurants. Unfortunately, this was not enough to redeem the soup which was disappointingly bland. The portions left a bit to be desired as well, as the bowl was not nearly filled and the garnish vegetables were sparse. Condiments were served in very small amounts and were not provided at the table. Based on other reviews, it seems entirely likely this was just an off day for the kitchen, but for the price I don't think I'll try and find out for myself, unfortunately.Parking: Plenty of parking, easy to get in and out of and conveniently located.
I'm a regular over here whenever I swing into Athens, and when you dine in everything is fine. Food is good, the service is fast, and the staff are great. Are there any number of pho places in, say, Duluth? Yes. But they're an hour away. The problem is when you want to order to go. They stopped taking phone orders, which is fine. However, their zenpepper online ordering system has never worked for me. Across multiple devices, multiple days, and multiple visits to the area. I still have to go over, tell them my order in person. Wait the same amount of time I would drive over. Then drive back.It sounds terribly entitled, but if I'm ordering to go I'm needing convenience and speed. This isn't it.The food, however is consistently good. It is such a disappointment that I can go to any number of places easier.
I couldn't afford to eat my usual bun this nuong because it was priced at $20?. So i ordered an everything pho. The pho soup tasted ok, very little meat. It was priced at $13 on menu but we got charged $15 for a small bowl. I get that there aren't any competition around this area for Vietnamese food. But dang why so expensive? They didn't even give much vegetables for on the side. It's like someone was counting how many bean sprouts and mint per side plates. We were not full or satisfied.
The pho tasted all right. The price is $15 for a small bowl. Very expensive so we won't be back.Food: 3/5
If your grandma was Vietnamese and loved you, this is the food she would feed you.Start with the ginger tea made with brown rock sugar. It tastes like self-care.Order any of the homemade broth Pho and the Bun Thit Nuong. The fresh ingredients and well-balanced sweet/savory sauces with chewy rice noodles march to your brain and demand oxytocin be released.
