It's kind of like Subway- you can choose a pita that's ready got all of the fixing for it listed, or you can build your own. I don't believe any of the menu options have a fully vegan pita already made up, but I know a few are at least vegetarian and each of them can easily be modified to be made vegan. My favorite pita is the falafel, then I fill it with a bunch of other delicious veggies as you would at Subway, but fresher. I have heard that the black bean burger is not so yummy. Maybe don't get your hopes up with that one!
I love getting my pita on Sundays, especially because that's when I get to see Michael, the friendly pita maker. He's always ready to share a story or a joke while he makes my pita.
This restaurant is located in a fascinating historic building in Athens. Don't be put off by the green color - the building used to be a bank with a rich history. The vault has been repurposed as a storage room, adding to the restaurant's unique charm.
The food was great and the staff was very friendly. They allowed us to sit and eat, even though it was just 5 minutes before closing. I am very particular about what my children eat, and Pita Pit offers excellent options.
The young lady waiting for me was very accommodating and very nice. She made me a gyro, but I really wanted a real gyro, but I couldn't find a Greek restaurant. I was out of town and that was my choice. The sandwich was good, but not exactly what I was looking for.
