Rose Maria Restaurant

After requesting a good restaurant for lunch, we were directed to this hotel. It turned out to be one of the better places I have been to in the backwaters of Kerala. Despite Mundakayam being seemingly in the middle of nowhere, it is a quaint town on the way to Thekkady from Kottayam. The restaurant is not very large, but the parking lot is ample and it is conveniently located near the city. We enjoyed a delicious Kerala thali - a traditional lunch served on a plate - and found it to be worth the price.

The food at this restaurant is excellent and well worth the money. They have good parking and convenient access to an ATM and hypermarket right at the entrance. It's the perfect stop for a trip to Idukki. If you're traveling from Kottayam towards Idukki, the restaurant is located 1 km before Mundakayam city.

We almost missed this restaurant on the way from Munnar to Thekkady, and I am grateful that we didn't. It is a beautiful, peaceful place with plenty of parking, delicious food, and excellent service. The Kerala meal was mouthwatering and authentic. I highly recommend it for friends and families.

The Rose Maria Restaurant is located on the Munnar Thekkady Road, at Mundakayam town. Complete with parking facilities, clean toilets and good food, this is a place worth visiting during your drive from Munnar to Thekkady. We had Kerala meals (thali) which left us yearning...for more. We saw happiness on the faces of all other people who were having a variety of dishes. The friendliness of the staff made our experience even more delightful.
