Havana Tropical Cafe

I'm Cuban, this is the best Cuban food I had outside my moms and sisters. the place has bright colors and very flat tables, as I remember when I lived in Cuba. the cook came out so I could tell him how much I enjoyed eating and we talked for a few minutes. it brought back many memories. if they want real Cuban food that has not been commercialized, this is the place for them. cannot wait to go back!

Nice place, friendly wAitress but super slow food service.

The place is a little run down but it was a fun atmosphere with nice Latin music playing (a little loud). The menu didn't really describe the dishes so some of our choices were surprising . The paella was nothing special and the majority of clams were not open ? The beef shank and hanger steak dishes were tasty but the presentation was not appealing . Our waitress was manic the whole time running but we waited almost 30 min for sangria ? And almost 1 Hr for food ?? Bringing containers for leftovers to the table for is to dump and pack is also quite unappealing . It seems to me the restaurant lacks management and over site . There is also a rough element of people that congregate outside to smoke that were selling stuff out of their trunks ; so not the safest feeling ? My advise would be to cleanup a bit and pay more attention to the details. It's a fun idea for a place down the shore but it needs some TLC
