We arrived in the afternoon to book a table during a festival weekend. Coming from Queensland, we requested a table by the fire due to the cold and wet weather. Despite being told there would be no problem, when we returned later to eat, our table was the farthest from the fire. The staff were friendly and helpful, but clearly overwhelmed. Two of the meals we received were not what we had ordered, and when we asked for a substitute, we were informed that they had run out of seafood. The schnitzel was bland and overly breaded, while the calamari was the only dish that stood out as good. The rest of the meals seemed rushed, and the young waitstaff appeared flustered. It is possible that the pressure of the festival impacted the quality of the food and service that night. Overall, the cost was reasonable, but the meals fell short of expectations.
I was very disappointed with my dining experience at this restaurant. The menu looked great online, but the prawns with garlic sauce were not flavorful and the rice was dry. When I inquired about a salad, the waitress was unsure and suggested there might be vegetables in the rice, which there were not. On a positive note, the oysters Kilpatrick had a nice sauce and bacon, and the waitress was honest about them being frozen. The lamb skewers and barramundi were also reported to be lacking in flavor, with the pita under the lamb being dry and inedible. Overall, the quality of the food did not meet my expectations from my previous visits to this establishment. The service was friendly but unprofessional, with staff clearing tables while guests were still eating and appearing distracted. It felt like they were more interested in sitting down to binge watch Netflix.
The service at this restaurant was well below average, but to be fair, the staff appeared to be very young. After finally being seated, we were informed that we had to order and pay inside. Despite the wait, the entree was delicious and the mains were decent. However, the dessert, a chocolate brownie with berry compote and ice cream, was a disappointment. The berry compote was missing and when we asked for it, we were given a jug of strawberry topping meant for kids' ice cream. The brownie was also dry and not worth eating. Overall, it would be better to travel a bit further to dine at Watervale or Sevenhill hotels.
Nice cozy atmosphere on a cold day with a lovely fire going. My husband had a seafood curry which he enjoyed and I had a grilled vegetable risotto which was rather bland. We shared a serve of vegetable which were delicious. The service was patchy. But overall we had a nice lunch here.
Group of 18 booked in. Order meals at Bar Order drinks at Bar. No table water. Meals come out 1 hr later over a time of 1 hour. My fish was burnt, loaded plate with chips, basic salad. 3 other people didn't eat their meals. Burnt, under cooked salt and pepper squid. Warm to hot night, no fan or air conditioner in dining area. Not impressed.
