My two sides were macaroni and cheese and green beans. I really liked the macaroni and cheese, however the green beans weren't from me.The green beans are good but they are slightly on the Sweetside so if you like the idea of sweet green beans then you'll be good. Yet, I have no complaints on the ribs I'm literally sitting here contemplating ordering another full rack just to have as a midnight snack or for breakfast. I would definitely visit this place again if I come back and I will definitely recommend this place my friends and family. LOVE IT!
I've dined here about four times, and I've never had any issues! We really enjoy this restaurant and always make it a point to stop by when we're passing through Augusta. It's definitely a cozy local spot. The staff is consistently friendly, and you can tell they have quite a few regular customers. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich and a rack of ribs—the meat literally falls off the bone! I'm pretty sure they make all their BBQ sauces in-house too. My husband loves their hot wings and always orders the loaded tater tots. The kids' menu is quite extensive as well. Dessert options vary, but I've never had anything disappointing. Plus, the prices are reasonable for the generous portions you receive! They also offer a military discount for our service members. In terms of cleanliness, I have no complaints; the bathrooms are always well-stocked and maintained, and I’ve never encountered a dirty table. Overall, this place is definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a good sit-down meal!
On the plus side, the mac and cheese was tasty, and my friend really enjoyed her burger and fries. I tried a few fries, and they were good crinkle-cut ones. Sadly, I only managed to eat half of my sandwich because the sauce just wasn't for me. I have two local friends who love this place! I think I’ll give the burger a try next time. The ribs looked good too...maybe I can sneak in my own sauce then!
5 for the service 3 for the food Most restaurants in the area were closing at 9pm so we selected Big Daddy's since they are open until 10. We were seated promptly and our waitress Brooke was there on the spot. Their menu is broad appetizers, wings, nachos, quesadillas, steaks, seafood, burgers and BBQ. My son ordered a 1/2 lb burger with sloppy tots (covered in ranch, cheese fake bacon bits). He liked the burger but doubted it was anywhere close to 1/2 lb. I selected the appetizer of bang shrimp with a side of tater tots. It took a really long time for our food (were were the only people seated in our section at 9:15pm). My tater tots arrived about 20 minutes after our food. It was weird because my son had tots on his plate. The tots were seriously overcooked fried super hard, almost inedible and certainly not tasty. The shrimp were really good so it made up for the terrible tots. Our waitress was really friendly and efficient. Just wish the kitchen had stepped it up a bit.
I wish it were better. I came to Big Daddy's Bar Grill for dinner, and this bbq spot was close to my hotel. While it is a BBQ place, you can in fact order non bbq items, including Burgers, steaks, fish and the like. I wasn't interested in any of that however, and so after checking out their menu, I decided on their pulled BBQ pork platter $11.99). The pulled BBQ pork platter came with a decent serving size of pulled pork, covered in a sweet bbq sauce. You also get a choice of two sides, although they suggest one of the sides as bbq hash. I did get the Hash, and the 1/2 cup of Pan brisket baked beans. A small cornbread muffin also came with the platter. Starting with the good, I enjoyed the baked beans. There were nice chunks of moist brisket mixed throughout the beans, which made this a much more souped up version of baked beans. They did need a touch more bbq sauce mied in, but I ate all of these. The pulled pork seemed to be a matter of preference if you liked it. I thought the texture of the pulled pork was that of boiled meat. It didn't seem smoked or bbq'd at all. The bbq sauce applied was also really sweet as well. I do like my sauces on the sweeter side, but that was just overboard to me. Maybe two slices of bread in the form of a sandwich would've slowed those sweet flavors down. The hash was very intersting to me. I thought the hash would be hash browns, but what I was told was the hash was almost a liquified bbq....It was mushy, flavorless and I just didn't know how to eat it. I did try, with a couple of spoonfulls, but I just couldn't finish it. This was a to go order, but customer service was fast, friendly and quick to serve me. I liked that everyone who came by and saw me sitting did at least ask if I had been helped. Very cool guys! Located off of Jimmie Dyes Pkwy, in a small strip, parking was fine, and getting in and out of this lot onto Jimmie Dyes was no problem at all. There's always the risk that to go orders may give a poor representation of a restaurant, and that could be true, but at least for the forseable future, it may be a while before I come back here.
