Lemke's Grill - Aurora

The five stars are for the fried cheese curds!! I drive a few miles off the freeway just to get some now. BRING CASH! They have an ATM available (for a fee). If you can handle a lot of fried food, I hear they do it well. I stick with a reuben sandwich (also very good) when I need to sit down and work on the road (and they do have WiFi--unadvertised, I asked). Other than that, it is also a bar, so it's not my favorite environment and the place could use a good cleaning beyond the tabletops and bathrooms. BUT the people are great! It is the only food option in the tiny town aside from what might be found in their itty bitty gas station.

I just had a fantastic meal here with my family and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The place is cozy and family-friendly, with a great selection of simple yet delicious dishes. There was just one bartender handling everything, but he was quick and incredibly friendly. We came here on a spur-of-the-moment decision, and we will definitely return the next time we visit Brookings! Delicious food and a happy family!
