Lenoir was so strong over the years. This visit was to celebrate my wife's birthday, and the service was top-notch and the food refined and thoughtful. My wife has an unusual allergy to Fenugreek, and they were always very accommodating and formed by the menu.
That was perfect for an intimate girl night. We loved eating, service and ambience.
The staff were phenomenal and patient, the food was mind blowing. I discovered my new favorite wine and got to blow out a birthday candle surrounded by chocolate . We had just left Uchi and showed up to our reservation hours late becise I was determined to visit. We had too much to drink and cut ourselves off, but the staff were really kind with us and tolerated our happy celebration as we were the last table of the night on a Tuesday. The fried quail was my favorite and the dessert with cheese I refused to share.
Delicious, inventive food! Only weak spot in our meal was dessert, which was a bit uninspired (especially when compared with the excellence of everything else). We had a raw tuna appetizer which was delectable very fresh, just the right amount of spiciness, and the Texas bean salad which was fantastic artfully served. We also had the rice crusted fish again, excellent, delicious, inventive and just about perfect. Nice accompaniments a little bit of spice made it quite enjoyable and different (in a good way). For dessert we had strawberry pie which was really a mixed berry tart served in what felt like a pre fab pastry shell nothing special in terms of fruit and the pastry was tough. We also had the carrot cake which really should have been called a peanut cake NOT what a carrot cake fan would be looking for. We were sorry we didn 't have the cheese course instead, since given the terrific savory food items we enjoyed, we 're sure it would have been great. Both desserts came with small, tasty gelato scoops. The wine list is large enough and more or less reasonably priced (comparable to other restaurants of this caliber). The ambiance is lovely, with a ring of tables for 2 or 4 surrounding a community table that seats maybe 10 or 12. Rustic, with backless stools at the community table which have a handy shelf great for stowing your handbag or scarf. The outdoor garden is a terrific place to wait, and the service is VERY warm, friendly, experienced and attentive. Overall, this place could be a total 5 star restaurant if they 'd improve the desserts to match the rest of the experience, in my humble opinion.
