Maru Japanese - Austin

I love Maru. Always great quality fish, so fresh. Great service, especially since it seems like it’s just the owners of the restaurant running the place. They’re so nice. It’s so good. If you love sushi like I do, come to Maru. I always get the chirashi. So. Much. Fish.Parking: Few number of spots right in front

It's a small family restaurant. There are various dishes, but it's traditional and modern sushi, alone more mixed.I ordered the Sashimi Deluxe. Fresh fish with very nice verity. It was delicious. Also had the Snow roll, which wasn't bad at all!I will be back!

Cute, cozy sushi spot near campus. Quick service, friendly staff, good sushi. Would go back for a couple of the rolls, but they weren’t great. The free cheesecake bites were a nice touch. Really it’s a 4.5.

I've loved this little mom pop place for all of the nearly 20 years I've lived in Austin. They don't follow showy, gastronomic trends (though there's a place in my heart for that, too), it's just really, REALLY good, quality sushi. The menu prices will look high until you see the cuts, and it will feel like a bargain. I recently returned after a years-long hiatus. The mackerel is marinated in their own unique way and I teared up a little at tasting it again.Maru truly does serve the highest quality sushi in Austin. Please never change. We love you so.
