Rock 'n Chair - AVALON

Thanks for accommodating our last-minute dinner reservation for our group of four couples. The service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. I appreciate that they were able to create a special meal for me to accommodate my dietary restrictions. I would give this restaurant a rating of 4.9 stars. While I understand the practice of automatically adding gratuity for parties of 8 or more, I find it unnecessary and somewhat annoying to include a 20% tip on top of the New Jersey sales tax.

Outstanding breakfast! Omelette (western about the best I’ve had!! Good fresh squeezed OJ always a treat. Service very good too which isn’t easy late summer on 7 mile island. Really nice outdoor/ porch dining space. . Highly recommend, (Don’t miss their quizzo nights either !

Always a fantastic meal. Consistent year after year. Cocktails were top notch. Chicken parm never disappoints. Family also had the pizza, crab cake, blackened mahi-mahi. Kids loved Mac n cheese and chicken fingers.

Just had a lovely experience here tonight! Our server Abby was extraordinary! The coconut encrusted shrimp were delicious. The two cocktails were well done.The menu is so varied, something for everyone. Thank you!

We decided we would take a trip back to the Rocking Chair. It has been years since we have been there. And....it was ok. Food is average. Not nearly as good as it should be for the price. Crab balls were over done. Taste of the crab meat was good. Friedgrouper tacos were fried correctly and salsa was fresh. GF crust Old Bay crab pizza was tasty. Service at our table was not veryfriendly...she was quick though. When we sat at the bar afterwards...that was fabulous. Bar tender was friendly and mixed anawesome dirty martini. The menu on line is not what you see when you arrive. Lots of items were missing...some things that I waslooking to try..were not on the printed menu. But overall...I would go back to the bar for drinks and light fare.
