It was not crowded in the restaurant. The food was warm and the broccoli was actually cold. We have been at Via Mara for many years and we were disappointed this time. It will be some time before we return.
I’m so very disappointed with my meal. I had ordered bruschetta for an appetizer. When the dish came out, the tomatoes were hot and had melted mozzarella cheese on top. My husband ordered clams casinos. Which he said were just clams with a piece of bacon on top. For entrees we ordered chicken parmigiana and veal parmigiana. The best we can say about it is, the red sauce was good. We also ordered the pasta with a garlic aoli sauce. There must be a shortage of garlic, because there was very little in our pasta! It had no flavor.?We will not be back!
Slow. Underwhelming. Overpriced. The whole experience just monopolized so much of my night that I don't even have the energy to commit to one of my long reviews.Let's just say we were there for 2 hours and I probably spent about 3 minutes at the end scarfing down my $40 plate of veal because I was just ready to leave. The veal portion was small, And it came with a side of linguine and marinara which basically tasted like it was diner linguine and marinara, You know the kind that drips water at the bottom of the plate. The marinara sauce so red that it tastes like overripened bitter tomato. Ugh, Parking: Small lot. Had to park across the street.
Nice cozy place. Food was good. All the deserts were outstanding. Great service. White sauce was outstanding.
Service was slow despite a half empty restaurant. Food was very bland…lacked flavor. Two shrimp dishes both had overcooked, hard shrimp. House salad dressing tasted like pure oil. Very disappointing experience for my wife’s birthday dinner which was hardly acknowledged by staff.
