Chez Alya delivered. A table outside by the stream, friendly unobtrusive service and an excellent value meal. We had the Provençal salad followed by cod with pommes dauphinoise. The fish was beautifully cooked. All in all, a meal to remember.
We gave this restaurant a try after browsing the menu board in the street and speaking briefly to a very welcoming member of staff. It is a quirky place with a limited but adequate menu. As a group of three, we ordered two starters to share. Our waiter proceeded to overfill the two plates so that there was plenty to share! Thank you. Between us, and across the two visits, we enjoyed delicious steak, cod and chicken dishes. The service was very friendly and efficient and the chef is clearly very capable indeed. We found the "house wine" - vin de pays from wine boxes - perfectly drinkable. We could have opted for more expensive wine by the bottle but that really wasn't necessary given the quality of the wine by the pichet. It is nice to know of a small business that really does provide value for money and a friendly welcome.
Came here with my wife on a Sunday for lunch initially like many others planning to go to the highly TripAdvisor rated restaurant next door, which turned out to be closed. The ambiance , however, was nice being seated outside und a big tree and the lunch menu "entree and main course" was very reasonable at 15Euro's. My wife opted for the vegetarian options and wasn't disappointed, while I went for the chicken spring rolls followed by chicken breast Supreme, all quite flavorful. Service was friendly, just the house wine is not the best quality, but the price is a acceptable. All in all a good experience.
We had a very nice romantic dinner here, at an outside table. Recommend sitting outside, as it's cute. The inside is much more casual. Delicious food and dessert.
As we had few choices for Sunday dinner in Avignon, we were pleased to discover this gem, which was right next door to the restaurant we had hoped to visit. We each ordered two items from the fixed price menu for 20 Euros each, and we were particularly impressed with our salads. Mine consisted of a wonderful eggplant and goat cheese combination, and his involved savory meats and delicious sundried tomatoes. Of the two main dishes, I think we both preferred mine because of its creamy mushroom sauce, which also was a nice accompaniment to his lamb. The side dishes of vegetables were also particularly tasty. As previous reviews have noted, the ambience in this restaurant could be better, but the food is certainly the star!
