La Rotisserie - Avignon

La Rotisserie is a tiny shop in a little square 5 minutes ' walk east of the central square, but what a boon to those visiting Avignon who have a kitchenette or apartment. La Rotisserie 's owners roast meats and potatoes, and steam vegetables every day (Mon. Fri, 0930 1400, 1700 1930; Sat. Sun. 0930 1330) for you to take home and enjoy. Let me emphasize that this isn 't take out as it 's normally understood – they prepare really nice meals from first quality ingredients roast lamb, beef, chicken and whatever else the market has going, plus staples like lasagna for you to take home and enjoy. It 's like having a really nice restaurant meal at a fraction of the price. We had the lamb with potatoes and green beans one night, the chicken another and if we 'd stayed longer, we 'd have gone more often. The owners are very nice, very helpful and speak excellent English. There is a Carrefour small supermarket next door with wine, beer, milk, eggs, cereal, etc. that you are likely to want for an apt. stay

A rotisserie on the left. Unique, excellent. Service and warm welcome. We bought with my husband the rotten pig, hamburg, andouillettes, Toulouse sausage, ratatouille and potatoes. Everything comes with a free roti sauce. The taste of everything we loved, but the potatoes (which are with garlic, onion, herbs... are so delicious, that we are immediately back and buy everything that has remained. Fabulous!
